Abby Lee Miller has seen her fair share of over-involved, outspoken dance moms, and season 2 of Lifetime’s Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition is no exception. When the series premieres Sept. 3, Miller welcomes 11 new contestants to her studio to vie for a $100,000 prize, a scholarship to New York City’s prestigious Joffrey Ballet School and the title of Abby’s Ultimate Dancer.
In the preview video clip above, the girls are prepped and ready to hit the floor — and so are their moms! Leading the pack of eager stage moms: Haley‘s mom Melanie, who as a dance instructor, isn’t willing to take ‘no’ for an answer.
“I trust no one. There are a lot of dance moms that absolutely hate me and despise my daughter,” admits the blonde, who comes to Los Angeles from the family’s home in Madison, Conn.
As the pair survey Miller’s dance studio for Haley’s competition, Melanie offers a final few words of wisdom to her daughter. “Remember what we’ve been through. You’re not here to make friends — you’re here to win! It’s us against the world!”
