Too far. Zendaya slammed a fan on Twitter after he asked his 6,500-plus followers which celebrity they’d want to rape if the horror movie The Purge was real.
In the hit science-fiction film series, all crime is legalized for a 12-hour period once a year in an attempt to lower crime rates throughout the rest of the year.
“If the purge was real who y’all raping?” the Twitter user wrote alongside photos of Beyoncé, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj and Zendaya, 19.
The since-deleted tweet quickly made rounds through the Twitterverse and eventually caught the eye of the “Something New” singer herself.
“This is absolutely disgusting and you should be ashamed of yourself. Is this really what my generation thinks is ok?” Zendaya tweeted on Sunday, July 3, adding, “People are sick…”
After the Twitter user joked that the Disney alum’s response was “lit,” she continued, “The only thing that’s lit is your immortality and inhumanity young man. I pray you find some sense.”
This isn’t the first time Zendaya shut down a social media troll. Last August, she responded perfectly to a Twitter user who called her parents ugly.
“First I’m gonna pray for you. While you’re so concerned about what my parents look like, please know that these are two of the most selfless people in the world,” she wrote at the time. “They have chosen to spend their entire life, not worried about trivial things such as looks and insulting people’s parents on Twitter, but instead became educators who have dedicated their lives to teaching, cultivating and filling young shallow minds. (One of the most important yet underpaid jobs we have). Please, log out, go to school, hug a teacher and read a textbook. And while you’re at it, go look in the mirror and know that you too are beautiful, because such hateful things only stem from internal struggles. Bless you.”
