The first severe snowstorm of the winter hit the East Coast Saturday, January 23, and one giant panda at the National Zoo in Washington, D.C., was having the time of his life.
“Tian Tian woke up this morning to a lot of snow, and he was pretty excited about it,” an account for the National Zoo tweeted early Saturday morning, along with a short clip of the fuzzy beast kicking up the fluffy white stuff and rolling about on the frozen hillside.
Twitter users instantly responded to the happy-go-lucky panda’s attitude and retweeted the original post more than 101,000 times within five hours.
“Confident this will be on loop for the rest of the day,” one user commented.
“Nothing like a good snow bath!” yet another wrote.
“My gf just told me it should have sound. I told her the panda’s just saying ‘I’m cute. I’m cute. Look at me being cute,’” one tweeter added.
But not all of the zoo’s animals were enjoying Winter Storm Jonas on Saturday.
Another, younger panda — Bei Bei, born in August — preferred to stay warm.
“Keepers said he wasn’t quite sure what to make of the powdery snow and made his way back inside quickly,” the zoo captioned a shot of the tiny furball via Instagram.
