Why Kim Kardashian’s Wedding Was “Awkward”

Not everyone had the time of their lives at Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries' epic wedding on Saturday.

"It was awkward," one insider admits to Us Weekly of the super-lavish bash at a private estate in Montecito, Calif., which was taped for an E! special airing in October.

"There were 100 crew members everywhere," explains the insider, "and people kept complaining they almost got hit by five camera guys everywhere they went. "

Also hampering the special day for guests like Lindsay Lohan, Eva Longoria and nearly 500 other friends and family? The infernal racket! "The helicopters were so loud nobody could hear the ceremony," the insider said, adding that Kardashian, 30, and Humphries, 26, wore microphones for the taping.

To keep the high-profile wedding (somewhat) under wraps, guests were also stripped of their cell phones; the Kardashian family even provided a "hotline number" to call from the premises to check in on guests' kids left behind at a hotel.

Still, despite those elements, plenty of revelers enjoyed the romantic, over-the-top night — featuring a 6-foot cake, a Wolfgang Puck-catered meal, Robin Thicke serenading the couple and speeches from both sides of the family.

"It was amazing, absolutely gorgeous," another insider said.

A third source agreed. "It was amazing — completely perfect!"
