When's the wedding?! Whitney Bischoff celebrated six months of engagement to Bachelor Chris Soules on Thursday, May 7, marking the milestone on Instagram with a sweet message. Soules, meanwhile, spoke to Us Weekly exclusively about his plans with his fiancee this summer.
"#tbt can't believe this was almost 6 months ago…" Bischoff, 29, wrote on Thursday, alongside a snap of Soules bending down on one knee and presenting her with her Neil Lane engagement ring. "Seems just like yesterday!"
Soules echoed Bischoff's sentiments while chatting with Us on Thursday, May 7, at WE tv's Ian Ziering’s "Pet Project" event to raise awareness for Canine Companions for Independence in L.A. The season 19 Bachelor, who was just booted off Dancing With the Stars, told Us: "I'm excited [to be] away from cameras… That'll be nice, and scheduling things around work and not around a show and being able to build our relationship."
The Iowa farmer, 33, told Us he's currently in the thick of farming season, but plans to spend extended amounts of time in Chicago (where Bischoff lives) once it's over. "Right now, we're in the middle of planting season, we should wrap up late May, and once I'm done with that… I'll spend plenty of time in Chicago," Soules told Us. "It's one of my favorite cities anyway. My sister lives out there so plenty of excuses to go to Chicago."
In fact, his sister and Bischoff have bonded in his absence. "Laurie, my sister, and Whitney became really close friends. Actually she was just, I was talking to her on the way over here and they were hanging out," Soules told Us. "That'll be fun to really just spend the summer together and hopefully do some traveling."
Soules told Us that he hopes to expand the family with Bischoff soon — with a puppy, that is. "I am a huge dog fan," he said. "I grew up with one on the farm. I kind of joke, but it's true, one of my best friends growing up was my dog, Dutch, so yeah. When you're on a farm that's just part of life growing up as a kid, having dogs."
"My goal is I'd love to get a German Shepherd or something like that or a rescue," he said, adding that his future will be littered with puppies. "My children will have a dog, that's no question, and maybe a cat or two."
