The gloves are off again! Donald Trump reignited his long-running feud with Rosie O’Donnell during the presidential debate Monday, September 26.
Toward the end of the political showdown with Hillary Clinton, the 70-year-old took aim at O’Donnell and defended derogatory comments he’d made about her in the past, including calling her “a slob” and “a loser.”
"I said very tough things to her,” Trump admitted. “And I think everybody would agree that she deserves it, and nobody feels sorry for her.”
The Republican nominee's controversial statement came about after Clinton, 68, brought up his history of making misogynistic comments toward women.
“But you want to know the truth,” he continued. “I was going to say something extremely rough to Hillary, to her family, and I said to myself, I can’t do it. I just can’t do it. It’s inappropriate. It’s not nice. She’s spent hundreds of millions of dollars on negative ads on me, many of which are absolutely untrue … I will tell you this Lester [Holt]: It’s not nice, and I don’t deserve that.”
