Earlier this week, TMZ reported that Shay failed to return home after a band practice on Wednesday, November 2, and that his wife, Scheana Shay, had been unable to reach him. A source close to Scheana told TMZ she even feared he could have fallen off the wagon after nearly a year of sobriety. Mike previously struggled with an eight-year addiction to painkillers, and Scheana, 31, staged an intervention on a 2015 episode of Vanderpump Rules.

Mike refuted the rumors about him on Instagram Monday. “I am not missing. I am sober. I am Happy!!!” he wrote alongside a photo of himself reading a recent copy of the Los Angeles Times newspaper. “Don’t believe everything you read. I love my wife and will always love my wife. Whatever is going on between us will stay between us! I love my family and my family loves me and a lot of things have been said out is protection and anger by many people. I just ready for the next chapter in my life!”

Despite his seemingly cheerful post, multiple sources tell Us Weekly that the couple, who married in July 2014 after more than three years of dating, may be headed toward a split. One insider claims Mike and Scheana have only made contact once, on Sunday, “briefly,” since he failed to return from band practice. “The relationship is strained,” the source tells Us. A representative for the couple has declined to comment at this time.

Scheana opened up about marriage in a recent interview with Us. “You’re not always gonna be on the same page as your partner, but at least if you can communicate that, then you can figure out a way to work through that together,” she told Us.

The brunette beauty also told Us that the new season of Vanderpump Rules on Bravo will follow the ups and downs of the couple’s marriage. “You will see a different side to our relationship this season,” she said.

Scheana hinted on Instagram Monday ahead of the season five premiere that the show might shed light on the pair’s recent drama. “Looking into the future! The truth will come out this season on #PumpRules so stay tuned!” she wrote.

Vanderpump Rules airs on Bravo Mondays at 9 p.m. ET.
