So adorable! Uzo Aduba attended the 2016 Screen Actors Guild Awards with an all-too-familiar date — her best friend and high school prom date, Mark. The Orange Is the New Black star, 34, and her red carpet date have been friends since kindergarten.
“He asked me to the prom, I said yes. I asked him to SAGs, he said yes,” Aduba posted on Twitter on Saturday, January 30, with a side-by-side photo of the pair in high school and at the event in Los Angeles.

The actress has shared several photos of Mark on her Instagram in the past, calling their long-lasting friendship “priceless.”
Later in the evening, Aduba, who plays Suzanne “Crazy Eyes” Warren on the hit Netflix series, won the SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series for the second year in a row. Orange Is the New Black also won the award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series.
While accepting her award, Aduba had an inspiring message for any struggling actors.
“I would like to just take an opportunity to acknowledge the actors who are at home — not here in this room with us, but hoping to one day be in this room with us — to continue to keep trying, to keep plugging, to keep working, no matter if anybody tells you to get out of that line that you’re waiting in,” she said. “Stay in line! You have the chance. It is yours.”
