Uma Uma nay. Actress Uma Thurman and fiance Arpad "Arki" Busson have called off their engagement for the second time, Us Weekly can confirm, after the actress attended a recent event without wearing her ring.
"It's true," the source tells Us of the couple. Both Thurman and the hedge-fund boss, 51, were due to attend the Room to Grow Spring Gala together in NYC on April 8, but the only one to show was the Gattaca star — without her rock. The Daily Mail first reported the news of their broken engagement on Easter Sunday, April 20.
Thurman, who lives in New York, has been with the London-based multimillionaire investor — albeit on-and-off again — since 2007. Thurman first broke off their engagement in 2009, returning the mega 8-carat rock he used in his proposal. She ultimately took him back in 2011 and, a year later, gave birth to their daughter, whom they famously named Rosalind Arusha Arkadina Altalune Florence Thurman-Busson.
At the Room to Grow gala, Thurman spoke with Us Weekly about watching her little girl develop. "It's shockingly rapid," she said of 21-month-old baby Luna. "I mean, especially having a child later… you barely have a chance to touch them before they're spinning off in the universe."
Thurman also shares two kids, daughter Maya, 16, and son Levon, 12, with ex-husband Ethan Hawke. Busson, meanwhile, has two sons, Aurelius, 11, and Arpad, 16, with ex-girlfriend, supermodel Elle Macpherson. At the time, the two insisted their split was amicable and asserted that they would remain "the greatest of friends."
