True success story! Tracy Morgan performed his first stand-up routine since his harrowing June 2014 accident on Monday, Oct. 12.
The 30 Rock comic, 46, made a surprise appearance onstage at the typically star-studded Comedy Cellar in NYC, for his first show in nearly a year and a half. Following his set, Morgan tweeted a photo of himself doing what he does best — performing and making audience members laugh.

Morgan's latest accomplishment was made after another momentous appearance following the accident that left him with severe brain trauma, and killed his best friend, comedian James McNair. Last month, Morgan received a standing ovation from his fellow actors at the 67th Primetime Emmy Awards, where he graciously thanked his supporters for their words of encouragement.
"I miss you guys so much," Morgan said before the audience, which included his old friends Fey, Jane Krakowski, and Amy Poehler. "Thanks to my amazing doctors, and the support of my family and beautiful wife, I’m here. Standing on my own two feet.” Indeed, Morgan was seen shuffling back and forth from rehab appointments to regain his form and move past the accident.
The comic — who also brought his little daughter, Maven, and his wife, Megan Wollover, to the Emmys — opened up to Us Weekly following the warm reception from his peers. "It was very overwhelming. Fifteen months. I’d missed it," he said. "I wanted to walk my wife down the aisle with no cane. God allowed me the opportunity to be in front of my peers and they said, 'Welcome back Tray.'"
