Zip it! Tom Brady has been advised by his wife, Gisele Bündchen, to stop talking about politics. The New England Patriots quarterback told reporters during a conference on Thursday, November 9, he won’t be discussing the election for the sake of his family.
“You’re assuming I gave him permission?” Brady responded when asked how he felt about POTUS-elect Donald Trump broadcasting his support last week. “I’m just gonna talk about football this week.”
Another reporter decided to press, asking Brady about the nail-biting vote last night and whether or not he voted for the controversial businessman, who defeated Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton.
“I talked to my wife and she said I can’t talk about politics anymore,” the hunk of an athlete cordially stated. “And I think that’s a good decision made for our family.”
Bündchen cleared the air about their family’s political beliefs last week after Trump said during a November 4 rally that Brady had endorsed him.
“Tom Brady, great guy, great friend of mine, great, great champion, unbelievable winner,” Trump said at the time. “He called today and he said, ‘Donald, I support you, you’re my friend, and I voted for you.’”
The former Apprentice host’s comments came after Brady revealed he is indeed friends with Trump. “Donald is a good friend of mine,” the athlete said during his weekly chat on WEEI’s The Dennis & Callahan Show. “I have known him for a long time. I support all my friends. That is what I have to say.”
One of Bündchen’s fans on Instagram then asked the former Victoria’s Secret model if Trump’s claims were true, to which she replied “NO!”
