Making headlines again! Socialite Tinsley Mortimer (née Mercer) was arrested in Palm Beach, Florida, on Saturday, April 9, for trespassing, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office. The one-time television personality, 40, was released at around 8:30 p.m. after she was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail on the misdemeanor charge.
According to the Palm Beach Daily News, officers responded to a call about an “unwanted guest” at a private property on Palm Beach’s swanky El Dorado Lane.
“Mercer was crying and screaming irrationally stating that her boyfriend … was inside with another woman and she only wanted to retrieve her purse from inside,” the police report states.
The unnamed owner of the residence where Mortimer made a ruckus told police that he and the handbag designer were no longer a couple and that her purse was not inside his home.
This isn’t the first time the former New York City it-girl has caused a scene on her ex’s residence. The Palm Beach Daily News reports that Mortimer was issued a trespass warning back in October. Police have documented five separate incidents involving the Southern Charm author showing up to the property unwarranted.
In 2009, Mortimer split from her husband, Robert Livingston Mortimer, whom she wed in 2002.
Prior to her hiccup with the law, Mortimer — who is perhaps best known for appearing on the 2010 CW reality series High Society — told New York magazine in a December 2014 interview that she was looking forward to finding love again in the future.
“I still want to obviously do it all,” she said at the time. “I want to have a nice home and a family. And eventually, when I have a husband, I want to be able to cook him a meal when he gets home … when we both get home.”
