A man so great, he needed two names! When The Hills ended in 2010, Justin Bobby Brescia virtually disappeared from the spotlight, keeping a much lower profile than his costars. But on Jan. 15, he spoke out in a rare interview with Bustle, explaining how he got his famous moniker.
It turns out, Brescia's ex-girlfriend Audrina Patridge was entirely responsible for the mix up with his name.
"I knew Audrina before the show, she worked at [a studio] where we were doing hair for a music video," he explained. "She knew me as Justin Brescia. When she asked me to film [The Hills] I said that I didn’t want my birth name on the show. [I told her] 'let’s just say Bobby, because my middle name is Robert.'"
She agreed to call him Bobby, but when it came time to film, Patridge, 29, struggled to get it right.
"Audrina was saying Bobby for a while, and I was like thank you, I appreciate it," Brescia, 32, said. "Then she started slipping and saying Justin. So then we start doing takes, and [the producers] hear on the walkies, Justin, Bobby, Justin Bobby, and they’re like… 'who the f–k are we talking to?'"
And the rest was history!
After years of an on-again, off-again relationship, Brescia and Patridge split. She is currently dating BMX biker Corey Bohan.
