Gang’s all here! Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston booked out a theater in Australia’s Gold Coast Thursday, July 14, so they could enjoy a private screening of Ghostbusters with Hiddleston’s pals and Avengers costars Chris Hemsworth and Mark Ruffalo.
The pair noshed on popcorn and sliders, a source tells Us, and they ordered food from inside the theater so they wouldn’t have to go out.
“Inside [the premium theater] Gold Class, they have waiters so there were strictly only two girls allowed in to serve,” the source added.
Swift, 26, could be heard at one point meeting Ghostbusters star Hemsworth, 32, for the first time and introducing herself by saying, “Hi, I’m Taylor, nice to meet you.”
(The Thor: Ragnorak star previously told Australian radio show Fitzy & Wippa during an interview on Friday, July 15, that he hadn’t met Swift yet but that his costar Hiddleston, 35, “looks happy.”) Ruffalo, 48, was also in attendance at the special screening, along with several producers.
On Friday, Hiddleston confirmed the fun Ghostbusters screening to Variety, and also acknowledged his Emmys nod for AMC’s The Night Manager. “It’s been a great day: I got to play on set with Mark Ruffalo and Chris Hemsworth, went to see Ghostbusters, and then I got nominated for an Emmy,” the British actor said.
Asked about his take on the rumors that his whirlwind relationship with Swift is nothing but smoke and mirrors, Hiddleston replied, “The truth is that Taylor Swift and I are together, and we’re very happy. That’s the truth. It’s not a publicity stunt.”
The couple are currently in Australia as Hiddleston (as villain Loki) films with Ruffalo (aka the Hulk) and Hemsworth (Thor) for their upcoming flick, Thor: Ragnorak.
