Beef squashed! Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift buried the hatchet at MTV’s 2015 Video Music Awards inside L.A.’s Microsoft Theater on Sunday, Aug. 30, after getting into a massive Twitter feud last month. The rapper, 32, and singer, 25, surprised the world when Swift made a guest appearance on stage after Minaj opened the awards show with hit “Trini Dem Girls.”
Clad in a custom bodysuit by Yousef Aljasmi and custom Stuart Weitzman boots, Swift fiercely joined in on the chorus of Minaj’s “The Night Is Still Young” before the two ended their performance — naturally — with “Bad Blood.”
In case you missed it, Swift and Minaj got into a heated argument on Twitter on July 21 after MTV announced the nominees for the Video of the Year. Swift, Beyonce, Ed Sheeran, and Mark Ronson were among those in the running. Minaj, unfortunately, was not.
Swift tweeted out her excitement for “Bad Blood”’s nomination and Minaj immediately took a stab at her, tweeting, “If your video celebrates women with very slim bodies, you will be nominated for vid of the year.”
“I’ve done nothing but love & support you. It’s unlike you to pit women against each other. Maybe one of the men took your slot…” Swift responded.
Minaj then claimed she didn’t reference Swift and blamed it on the media, while fellow artists, including Bruno Mars, jokingly got in on the feud. “Yo I want in on this twitter Beef!! VMAs is the new WWF!! @edsheeran F—k You!” the “Uptown Funk” singer tweeted.
Aaron Paul also jokingly offered to help the girls get together over pancakes.
Watch their performance above and amen!
