Sweet Swiftie! On Saturday, Aug. 15, Taylor Swift took a moment to share a special dedication before introducing her throwback tune, “Never Grow Up.”
The Grammy winner, 25, addressed the crowd of thousands at the Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., telling them about her new baby godson, Leo — the infant of her pal Jaime King.
“I wrote it when I was 18 or 19, but my friend just had a baby and she named me godmother of it,” Swift told the cheering crowd. “I was holding this little baby the other night, and I was just thinking differently. When you’re holding onto something that’s so innocent and so perfect and has no idea what’s coming for it with the world. The world is going to throw so many things at you as you grow up. It made me think of this song I wrote a long time ago called ‘Never Grow Up.’”
The show also featured actress Julia Roberts and musician Joan Baez, who walked the stage’s runway with Swift during her song “Style.”
The chart-topper first met her 1-month-old godson on July 28, posting a picture of their adorable interaction on Instagram with the caption, “Meeting my boy. @jaime_king @kyle_newman.”
Actress King, 36, previously gushed about picking Swift for her son’s godmother telling Elle.com, "I always knew she was going to be the godmother if I had another baby. Choosing a godmother is a very sacred and important thing in our family. They're going to be guiding your child, and they're responsible for them if something was to ever happen.”
Leo is the second child of King and her husband, Kyle Newman, who already share son James, 22 months.
