They are not with him. Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders and many others were left flabbergasted following Donald Trump‘s Republican National Convention speech on Thursday, July 21. Watch all the highlights from the eventful night in the video above!
Trump, who officially accepted the GOP’s presidential nomination, addressed the crowd for 75 minutes in Cleveland. He thanked his family for their support, chanted “USA!” with the audience and pledged to “make America great again.” He said that he would create more jobs, destroy ISIS and, as he has said before, build a wall on the country’s border with Mexico to keep illegal immigrants out of the United States.
In one particular moment, Trump, 70, slammed Clinton’s campaign slogan. “My opponent asks her supporters to recite a three-word loyalty pledge. It reads: ‘I’m with her.’ I choose to recite a different pledge. My pledge reads: ‘I’m with you’ ― the American people!” he said of the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee. “I am your voice. … So to every parent who dreams for their child, and every child who dreams for their future, I say these words to you tonight: I’m with you, I will fight for you and I will win for you.”
Trump’s remarks, especially his “I am your voice” comment, didn’t sit well with some viewers. Many vented their frustrations on Twitter, with Senator Sanders — who endorsed former rival Clinton, 68, last week — telling his supporters to look the other way.
“Those who voted for me will not support Trump who has made bigotry and divisiveness the cornerstone of his campaign. #RNCwithBernie,” Sanders, 74, tweeted. “Every American over 18 must be automatically registered to vote so that young people can make their voices heard at the ballot box.”
He added: “Trump: ‘I alone can fix this.’ Is this guy running for president or dictator? #RNCwithBernie.”
Clinton fought back too. “‘I’m with you*’ —@realDonaldTrump *Not included: women, African Americans, LGBT people, Muslims, Latinos, immigrants…” she wrote. “We are better than this.”
Others called out Trump for playing loose with the facts. “Look, #drumpf is so f ing full of SH-T, imma gonna have to send him a fast acting diuretic,” Kathy Griffin tweeted. Amanda Seyfried shared: “How much of what Trump is saying is something that truly exists, happens, or has happened…(aka fact)?”
Additionally, many pointed out that Trump sounded awkward when briefly acknowledged the LGBTQ community as he condemned the Orlando massacre at Pulse nightclub. “I am actually, literally LOLing at Trump attempting to say the LGBTQ acronym out loud for (obvi) the first time. You’re not our ally bro,” Sophia Bush wrote. Debra Messing added: “I think it’s the first time he has ever said LGBT. He keeps stumbling over it.”

One group fought to bring us marriage equality. Another group is fighting passionately to “save Christmas.” Just stating some facts.
