Her No. 1 fan! Simone Biles’ mom, Nellie Biles, sent her daughter a few sweet tweets of encouragement ahead of her Olympic gymnastics competition on Sunday, August 7.
The first-time Olympic athlete was set to compete for the qualification session in hopes of qualifying for the team, all-around, beam, floor and vault finals on a world stage, and her mom knew just the right words to say.
“Long terms goal is here/embrace the experience and have fun,” Nellie tweeted. “I love you – Mom.”
In response, the 19-year-old gymnast retweeted her mom’s message and shared a few words of her own. “Mom I am ready – your words give me comfort – I love you,” she wrote.
This isn’t the first time that Nellie has sent her daughter words of support from afar. In July, the proud mom tweeted words of encouragement to Simone several times.

On Friday, August 5, Simone got a very special greeting from Kim Kardashian, who recorded a message of encouragement to the athlete, and the pair had a cute exchange online.
“Hey, Simone!” the 35-year-old reality star says in the clip, which NBC Olympics shared on its Twitter account. “It’s Kim Kardashian West, and I just wanted to wish you the best of luck in the Olympics. We’re all rooting for you back at home.”
Simone replied with an excited tweet of thanks, and noted that she’s “obsessed with North!” Ever the responsive social media user, Kardashian wrote back, “She just started gymnastics! Maybe she can show you some moves?”
