So much shade. Twitter erupted late on Sunday, July 17, after Kim Kardashian called out Taylor Swift for apparently lying about not knowing about Kanye West’s “Famous” lyric. Watch the video above to see how it all went down.
And fans weren’t the only ones to take sides on Team Kimye and Team Taylor — the “Blank Space” singer’s close friend Selena Gomez was among the first to tweet in defense of her pal.
“There are more important things to talk about…” the “Kill Em With Kindness” singer tweeted. “Why can’t people use their voice for something that f–king matters?”
Then she followed it up with two more tweets. “Truth is last thing we need right now is hate, in any form,” Gomez, 23, wrote, before adding, “This industry is so disappointing yet the most influential smh.”
Katy Perry — who has had her own issues with the “Bad Blood” singer and chimed in last week about Swift’s ongoing drama with ex Calvin Harris — posted a tweet referencing her new single, “Rise,” that also seemed to be a comment about the Kimye controversy. “#RISE above it all,” she wrote, with a link to her song.
Zendaya, who was briefly a member of Swift’s squad, indirectly addressed the controversy, which was kicked off on Sunday night when Kardashian Snapchatted a series of phone calls that her husband had with Swift about referencing her in his song “Famous.” (Swift subsequently replied with her own message on Instagram.)
The Shade Room pointed out that the 19-year-old, while not posting her own message, liked two Tweets before unliking them. The first message featured two pics of the former Disney Channel star with Swift and her pals and the caption, “My girl zendaya knew better.” In the second tweet a commenter wrote, “I’m glad zendaya was never really down with that whole Taylor squad s–t.”

Demi Lovato, who has a tumultuous history with Swift, expressed her opinion by liking a tweet that proclaimed, “I love Kim Kardashian.”
The Swift/Kimye drama also played out on Sunday night’s episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, and Khloé Kardashian defended her big sis in a series of tweets, writing, “Kim is a savage! Don’t f–k with her man hunni #KUWTK.”
Kourtney Kardashian praised Khloé for defending their sibling, writing, “If I ever need a hype man I know @khloekardashian has my back.”
But things got even more heated after Chloë Grace Moretz, who previously had a run-in with Kim, offered up her opinion. “Stop wasting your voice on something so petulant and unimportant,” she wrote. “Everyone in this industry needs to get their heads out of a hole and look around to realize what’s ACTUALLY happening in the REAL world.”
Khloé replied by posting an explicit pic of a woman in a bikini, who looked like Moretz, with her butt exposed. “Is this the a hole you’re referring to @ChloeGMoretz ???” Khloé, 32, wrote.
“@khloekardashian fact check: first photo is me filming my movie Neighbours 2, the second photo is some girl who was wrongfully photographed,” Moretz replied.

Ruby Rose then stepped into the fray to defend the teen.
“Yo khloe I thought you were rad when I met you but this is awful and this is a 19 year old girl,” she tweeted, referencing Moretz’s age.
“Nobody likes being bullied or made to feel worthless.. Yet so many people will go above and beyond to make others feel that way,” added the Orange Is the New Black star, who spent the July 4 weekend partying with Swift and her new boyfriend, Tom Hiddleston.
“The Internet has the ability to bring us together, change the world and how we think and treat one another,” Rose, 30, later wrote in an Instagram post. “But it’s sadly more often used to bring people down…with everything going on in the world. Maybe we need to adjust our priorities.”
Justin Bieber appeared to be the voice of reason amid the craziness on Sunday, posting a video on Instagram where he simply said, “Less hate, more love.”
