Growing up before our eyes! Katie Holmes shared a rare photo of her daughter, Suri, on her Instagram account Monday, November 14. In the blurry shot, the smiling 10-year-old stands next to a friend in front of a few decorated cupcakes. The young bakers, clad in DC cupcakes aprons, got messy and happily showed off their sprinkle-and-frosting-covered fingers.
Holmes, who publicly supported Hillary Clinton during the presidential election, captioned the girl power pic with a few inspirational words of wisdom: “Strong little girls that will become strong women. Let’s keep fighting to make it a better world for our children ❤️,”
Holmes, 37, last shared a photo of her and Suri on Election Day, November 8. She captioned the shot, “Incredible day for our future. . . #imwith her.”
The mother-daughter pair, who frequent Broadway shows when they’re home in Manhattan, spent last weekend in California while Holmes promoted her directorial-debut film, All We Had, at the Napa Valley Film Festival. The drama, in which Holmes also stars with Richard Kind and Mark Consuelos, hits theaters December 9.
Although Suri hasn’t been publicly photographed with her Scientologist father, Tom Cruise, since 2012, a source previously told Us Weekly that she is still an important part of his life. In fact, the source said she secretly traveled to England with a bodyguard and her nanny to celebrate his 54th birthday with him in July. “He didn’t want word to get out, so everything was treated discreetly,” the source says. Prior to their five-day get-together, the source reveals, he “hadn’t seen Suri for a long time.” Suri lives full time with her mom.
