Google searches for “how can I move to Canada” skyrocketed on Super Tuesday after Donald Trump was victorious in seven out of the eleven states in the Republican primary and Hillary Clinton won big in the Democratic race, also taking seven states.
Google Data Editor Simon Rogers first called attention to the trend and tweeted: “Searches for ‘how can I move to Canada’ on Google have spiked +350% in the past four hours #SuperTuesday.”
The day after Super Tuesday, searches for “move to Canada” were higher than at any time in Google history, according to their official GoogleTrends Twitter account.
The View cohost Raven-Symoné is among those considering a move to the Great White North if any of the Republican candidates get nominated. “I already have my ticket,” she said on the Thursday, February 25, episode of the talk show. “I literally bought my ticket. I swear.”
Miley Cyrus took to Instagram on Wednesday, March 2, to express her anger and desire to leave the country if Trump becomes president. “YOU DT ARE NOT GOD NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU THINK YOU ARE!!!” she posted. “(& if he doesn’t think he is ‘God’ he thinks he is the f–king chosen one or some sh-t! We’re all just f–king jam between his rich ass toes! Honestly f–k this sh-t I am moving if this is my president! I don’t say things I don’t mean!)”
Some other celebs who are contemplating a move if Trump is elected include Whoopi Goldberg, Samuel L. Jackson, Cher and Jon Stewart.
