Russell Brand doesn't have a filter when it comes to talking about his sex life — or anything else, for that matter. The 38-year-old comedian held nothing back in a recent interview with HuffPost Live, spilling his thoughts on everything from gay marriage to the NSA to monogamy to the most orgasms he had ever had in a single day.
"Once in Dublin, [I had] nine. And it wasn't even in a day, it was an evening," the British actor revealed. "It was crazy there. What a mental night it was. I felt exhausted the next day."
Asked whether he had been on drugs at the time, Brand said no, explaining that his sexual appetite grew when he got clean. "After I came off drugs, I had a lot of energy that needed to go somewhere, and I thought…that way," he quipped.
He stressed, however, that he abides by certain etiquette rules when it comes to hitting the sheets with a woman. "I think that if you're having sex with someone, and you're a man, that person's got to have an orgasm first, haven't they?" he noted. "Otherwise you've not done your job as a man…You've got to make sure that everyone is happy."
Brand, who finalized his divorce from singer Katy Perry in July 2012, also said he thinks sex is an important part of life. The key is to not let it "consume" you.
"I probably in the past have been guilty of thinking about sex too much," he admitted. "But, God, when you see a beautiful woman, doesn't it disrupt everything? It disrupts everything! I can't focus!"
That said, when he commits to a woman, he really commits. "It's a hard-core thing, monogamy. It's a hard-core principle. But beautiful and to be recommended. And if you make a commitment to it, you gotta do it," he said. "When I was married, monogamy, straight down the middle. You can't mess around with that stuff."
