Rosie O’Donnell opened up about the recent drama regarding her regarding her estranged daughter, Chelsea, during a stand-up show at Gotham Comedy Club in NYC on Saturday, Oct. 17.

“I love all of my kids,” the former View co-host, 53, said. “My daughter has been in the news. It’s been in the news, but it’s not news to the family. It’s been a decade long. As Mom, my wish is for love and peace and wait until it’s done.”

The comedian and ex-wife Kelli Carpenter adopted Chelsea in 1997, and in a recent interview, the young woman bashed O’Donnell. During the gig, the comedian pointed to Chelsea’s age for her behavior.

“Chelsea just turned 18,” she said. “For adopted children 18 is a magic number. At 18 they’re gonna rebel any way they can, any way they can get your attention. I keep thinking I see Chelsea. When your kid isn’t there you see them everywhere.”

Last week, a source close to Rosie also revealed to Us Weekly that O’Donnell is “extremely depressed,” a matter that O’Donnell shed light on during her set.

“I know about mental illness — I have my own,” the former daytime host admitted. “I thought mental illness was failure of my character, not my chemistry.”

This month hasn’t been easy for O’Donnell. On Thursday, Oct. 15, the former View co-host was sued by a former senior producer on the show for slander, alleging that the comedian also got her fired.
