So touching. Rory Feek shared an emotional photograph of himself and terminally ill wife Joey Feek embracing at the end of Valentine's Day and sharing a romantic meal together in her bed.
The country star had already shared a gorgeous photograph of his wife and their daughter, Indiana, together earlier in the day, and had evidently gone all-out to make sure this Valentine's was as special as it could possibly be.
Joey, who was diagnosed with stage IV cervical cancer in 2014, had her first date with her husband on Valentine's Day 2002. Two months later they were engaged to be married.
In the photograph, the pair are seen wearing a matching corsage and boutonniere. In front of their kissing faces, a bedside table is laid with all sorts of delicious-looking food, and there are two heart-covered cups filled with ice and drink.
"Happy Valentine's Day my love," Rory, 49, captioned the picture, simply.
Talking about his wishes for Valentine's Day in a blog post a few days ago, Rory wrote: "I want to take her back to where our lives first began together, and relive this beautiful journey that God has taken us on. From that first song she heard me sing at the Bluebird cafe, to the last one we sang together as we stood on stage and took our final bow. To the songs that she will leave behind here on earth and the ones she will soon sing for eternity to our sweet Lord in that heavenly choir up yonder.”
