The "When Doves Cry" singer's jet reportedly made an unscheduled landing at Quad City International Airport in Rock Island County, Illinois, shortly after 1 a.m. on Friday. He was reportedly taken to an area hospital via ambulance.
One source told TMZ that the seven-time Grammy winner, who performed a concert in Atlanta on Thursday night, was released from the hospital and is recovering. Another insider told the site that the musician is "not doing well" and is still in the hospital. The specific medical issue is not yet known.
Prince had canceled two concerts in Atlanta earlier this month due to illness, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, 57, released his latest album, HITnRUN Phase One, in September 2015.
