Here's hoping 2013 is a better year for Nick Stahl.
The Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines star was arrested Thursday, Dec. 27, for allegedly committing a lewd act at a porn paraphernalia and movie shop in Los Angeles, TMZ reports.
According to the site, LAPD undercover vice officers were conducting a routine check of the store when they discovered Stahl, 33, "touching himself" in a private booth. Law enforcement promptly took him into custody and charged him with lewd conduct, a misdemeanor.
Leaving the police station alone a few hours later, the star told reporters that the whole thing had been a "misunderstanding."
In any case, the incident caps an already-bizarre year for the actor. In May, he was reported missing by his wife, Rose Murphy, after he dropped off the grid for several days, reportedly to check himself into rehab. A month later, upon leaving the treatment program against doctors' advice, he vanished a second time, resurfacing again in July.
"He wants to be well," Murphy told E! News after his first disappearance. "He's a good man and we want him home so we can help him."
