Let the Drumline jokes ensue! Nick Cannon announced over the weekend that he has enrolled at Howard University in Washington, D.C., and plans to graduate with the class of 2020.
The America’s Got Talent host, 35, shared an Instagram photo of himself decked out in first-day-of-school attire as he stands next to a Howard University sign.

“YOU KNOW!!!!! #HU2020 My First Day as a Freshman!!! Howard University Class of 2020,” he captioned the shot on Saturday, August 20.
In the pic, Cannon rocks a brown bomber jacket, faded jeans, Timberland boots and a Louis Vuitton backpack as he throws up a peace sign in celebration of the start of his freshman year.
The comedian kicked off his Hollywood career working on Nickelodeon’s All That shortly after he graduated from Spring Valley, California’s Monte Vista High School in 1998 and therefore never attended college. He did not specify what he plans to study at HU or whether he’s a full-time or part-time student.
Cannon’s Instagram post sent social media users into a frenzy with Drumline jokes. (As fans know, the actor starred in the 2002 film as a freshman who joined the marching band at a historically black college.)
“Just remember @NickCannon ‘You’re on time if you’re 5 minutes earlier, You’re late if you’re on time!’ #OneBandOneSound PS – Congrats,” Cannon’s Drumline costar Orlando Jones tweeted on Sunday, August 21.
The Wild ‘N Out host replied to Jones, writing, “Ha!! My man!!!”
Cannon’s new school also joined in with a response, tweeting, “@NickCannon welcome to @howardu !!”
