Jesse Tyler Ferguson and his boyfriend Justin Mikita are ready to take their romance to the next level.
The Modern Family actor and his love of almost two years shared their happy news — that they're planning on heading down the aisle — in a video for Tie The Knot, an organization they recently launched dedicated to the fight for marriage equality.
"It's true, I popped the big Q," Ferguson, 36, announces. And, "I said yes!" Mikita chimes in.
The head-over-heels couple, who first stepped out together in January 2011, are hoping everyone, regardless of sexual orientation, can enjoy the type of happiness they currently are. Ferguson and Mikita, 27, will design and manufacture a "Tie The Knot" bowtie collection and sell the neckwear at TheTieBar.com. (All proceeds from their sales will go to groups focused on LGBT rights.)
"Justin and I created Tie The Knot in the hopes that we soon see a day when millions of Americans across the country will have the basic civil right to marry the person they love," Ferguson said in a statement to Us Weekly about the initiative. "When people purchase our bow ties, they're raising funds that will help support marriage equality, and they're doing it while looking damn good."
