Miranda Lambert has opened up about divorce from ex-husband Blake Shelton, revealing she has no regrets about how they handled it.
Talking in her new cover story for Cosmopolitan magazine (via Entertainment Tonight) the 32-year-old country music sensation says she and her ex did all they could to make their relationship work out.
“Marriage is a tough business, and we gave it our best college try,” Lambert told the mag, before admitting she was still struggling to process everything that happened.
“I had a great relationship with an amazing man,” she went on. “I know what good is. I have a great launching pad for the future. I will never take that for granted,” she added.
While her former husband Shelton, 39, has jumped headfirst into a new relationship with his Voice costar Gwen Stefani, Lambert revealed she’s happy to let the ink dry on her divorce papers before she moves on with her love life, and will take whatever is thrown at her as she adjusts.
“Some of that might mean nights on my porch crying, drinking whiskey, and going, ‘Man, this sucks right now,'” she admitted.
But despite the fact she’s not actively looking for a man, the blonde bombshell reveals she does know how to make herself look and feel her best.
“I feel the sexiest when I’m in my element, which is playing music,” she told the outlet. “It doesn’t really matter what I’m wearing necessarily or where I’m at, just on stage with my band playing music is sort of where I feel like I belong and that makes me feel sexy.”
