The AP reports that the state medical examiner’s office determined the cause of death on Thursday after an autopsy was completed. Shortly after Thaddeus’ cause of death was confirmed, his mother, 71, took to Twitter to pay tribute to her late child.

“We’re devastated by the loss of Thaddeus, our beloved son and brother. He was a wonderful, courageous person who overcame so much hardship in his short life,” she wrote. “We miss him. Thank you for the outpouring of condolences and words of kindness.”

According to the AP, state police said that Thaddeus lived about 24 miles away from Roxbury, in Torrington. Public records indicate that he lived at his famous mom’s Bridgewater estate a few years ago before moving out.
