Melania Trump gave America a glimpse of herself as the first lady Monday, July 18. The usually quiet former model took to the podium during the Republican National Convention in Cleveland to praise her husband, Donald Trump, and reveal the “qualities” she’d bring to the White House. “I’m so proud of your choice for the next president of the United States, my husband, Donald J. Trump, and I can assure you, he’s moved by this great honor,” the Slovenian told the crowd as she began her remarks. “If you want someone to fight for you and your country, I can assure you, he’s the guy. He will never, ever give up. And most importantly, he will never, ever let you down.”
Melania defended her controversial husband, describing him as “tough when he has to be, but he’s also kind and fair and caring.”
“Donald is immensely loyal,” she added during her almost nine-minute long speech. “No room for small thinking, no room for small results. Donald gets things done.”
The potential future first lady revealed that women’s and children’s causes are close to her heart, as well as giving children “the best possible education.” “These are the qualities my husband and I would bring to the White House,” Melania stated.
The gorgeous 46-year-old also stated that her husband stands for “inclusion rather than division” and that he “intends to represent all the people, not just some of the people” despite his controversial stance on immigration. “That includes Christian and Jews and Muslims,” Melania said. “It includes Hispanics and African Americans and Asians and the poor and the middle class.”
Some were in support of Melania while others were quick to bash her, but almost the entire Twitterverse could agree on one thing: Melania looked stunning during her big moment.
