Melania Trump gave her first interview as the future first lady on Sunday, November 13, and she revealed she regularly advises her husband, Donald Trump, on his behavior, but he doesn't always listen. Watch what she said, as well as the biggest moments from the interview, in the video above.
The 46-year-old Slovenian former model sat down with the president-elect for CBS’s 60 Minutes and admitted she feels the president-elect goes too far with his infamous Twitter attacks.
Host Lesley Stahl asked her about her plans to tackle social media bullying during her stint in the White House, and she said, “I think it's very important because a lot of children and teenagers are getting hurt.”
“We need to teach them how to talk to each other, how to treat each other and to be able to connect with each other the right way.”
When it was pointed out that her own husband had used Twitter to harass others, Melania acknowledged, "Sometimes, he — it got him in trouble. But it helped a lot as well.”
But when asked if she’d ever told him he had gone too far, she said, “Of course, I did many times. From the beginning of the campaign.”
Stahl asked, “Does he listen to you?” To which she replied, “Sometimes he listens, sometimes he doesn’t.
“I think he hears me. But he will do what he wants to do on the end. He's an adult. He knows the consequences. And I give him my opinion. And he could do whatever he likes with it.”
Twitter users quickly reacted to her words, with some pointing out the hypocrisy of her fight against cyberbullying, when Trump has been accused of doing just that.
I am somehow worried that #MELANIATRUMP needed to say #TrumpPresident is an adult @60Minutes interview

WTH? #melaniatrump again says 'we should treat each other better, not bully' while @realDonaldTrump sits next to her during @60Minutes barf!

#MelaniaTrump repeating her concerns about cyber bullying on 60 Minutes is another reminder: Irony is officially dead in #Trump's America.

The eldest of Trump’s two daughters, Ivanka, along with siblings Eric, Donald Jr. and Tiffany, also joined the interview, which took place inside Trump Towers.
Ivanka shot down reports that she will be part of her father’s administration, saying she was very “passionate” about “promoting more opportunities for women” but “not in a formal administrative capacity.”
Instead she will continue to look after her billionaire dad’s businesses and her own as well.
