And she handled it like a champ! Lindsey Vonn got skewered by ESPYS 2015 host Joel McHale during the star-studded awards show on Wednesday, July 15, with (what else?) a Tiger Woods joke.
The professional skier, who split from Woods this past May, became one of McHale's victims of the evening within minutes of the show's opening.
"Many are calling Jordan Spieth the new Tiger Woods," McHale said of the 21-year-old golf sensation, who is currently ranked second in the world. "Which is great news for golf and terrible news for the future Mrs. Jordan Spieth."
Producers then panned and zoomed directly to Vonn as the audience erupted in nervous laughter and sympathy. The skier, meanwhile, who looked glamorous in a red gown and Devi Kroell clutch, played along by making sad faces and giving side eye to the cameras.
"Is uh, Lindsey behind me right now?" McHale asked as Vonn put her head down. "She wasn't married to him! Is she mad?"
Ever the good sport, Vonn laughed nervously in response.
The skier announced her split from the golfer in a Facebook post this past May.
"After nearly three years together, Tiger and I have mutually decided to end our relationship," she wrote. "I will always cherish the memories that we've created together. Unfortunately, we both lead incredibly hectic lives that force us to spend a majority of our time apart," Vonn added in her post. "I will always admire and respect Tiger. He and his beautiful family will always hold a special place in my heart."
