The Lakers are leading the prayers for former NBA champion Lamar Odom as he receives treatment in a Nevada hospital after being found unconscious in a Pahrump brothel.
Odom, who was in critical condition, per TMZ, as of Tuesday, Oct. 13, played for the Lakers during the 2009 and 2010 seasons before being traded to the Dallas Mavericks in December 2011. He also previously played for the Los Angeles Clippers and Miami Heat.
Assistant Lakers coach and former player Mark Madsen tweeted late Tuesday that the team plane was a somber place as the players returned home following their preseason game against the Sacramento Kings in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, not far from Odom's hospitalization.

And while Odom's pal Kobe Bryant has yet to comment officially on his friend's current situation, the NBA legend did leave the game early, as news of Odom's hospitalization hit, for what the Lakers cited as "personal reasons." He was reportedly seen arriving at the hospital a short time later.
Other NBA stars were also quick to jump on social media and send love and thoughts to their former fellow player.
DeMarcus Cousins wrote: "Prayers up for Lamar Odom and his family!"
"Pretty much everyone in the NBA who crossed paths with Lamar Odom holds him in high esteem. A whole league prays for LO tonight," added NBA reporter Marc Stein.
Dwyane Wade, who responded quickly after news broke by sending prayers to his "brother" Odom, revealed he was struggling to sleep as he kept his friend in his thoughts. "I can't help but be up right now thinking about my ex-teammate/friend LO…On my knees praying…please God let him pull through," he wrote via Twitter.
Those sentiments were echoed by Warriors interim coach Luke Walton. "Lamar is a brother to me. I love that man. My prayers are with him," he said.
Odom's influence on many current basketball pros was also reflected in other tweets. "Prayers out to my favorite player Lamar Odom!" Mitch McGary wrote. "Looked up to him growing up. He is the reason I play ball to this day. Sad to see."

Odom's past troubles are very well documented. He previously spent time in rehab, and was arrested in 2013 for DUI. Earlier this year, he was left reeling by the deaths of two close friends. "He's been in a downward spiral for a while," a source tells Us. "It's very scary and sad."
