Lamar Odom is going to have to stick to the straight and narrow for quite some time after being arrested by the California Highway Patrol for a DUI in August.

The basketballer, 34, who is not currently affiliated with any NBA team, reached a plea deal in the case Monday. In the agreement, Odom was sentenced to 36 months of probation and promised to attend a three-month alcohol rehabilitation program and pay $1,814 in fines a Los Angeles City Attorney's Office spokesperson tells omg!.

Odom was not required to attend the ruling and was instead represented by his lawyer who plead no contest on the athlete's behalf in Superior Court in Van Nuys, California, on Monday.

In August, Odom was pulled over after allegedly driving 15 miles under the speed limit in a "serpentine manner," and the CHP recorded that he showed "objective signs of driving under the influence and was unable to perform the field sobriety tests the officer asked for," before refusing to take any chemical tests.

Another hearing has yet to be scheduled to determine when Odom will receive his driving privileges back, and if he will be required to complete any community service.

Despite several months of separation, wife Khloé Kardashian has stood by her troubled husband during the past year year in which the former "Khloé & Lamar" E! reality star has been plagued by rumors of drug abuse. As of late, Odom has seemingly been trying to get back on track professionally. He's recently been training with members of the Los Angeles Clippers (the last team he played for).
