Lamar Odom was hospitalized on Tuesday, Oct. 13, after being found unconscious at legal brothel Love Ranch South in Pahrump, Nev., and has since remained in critical condition at Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas. Here’s everything we know about the former NBA star’s tragic situation:
Love Ranch South:
On Saturday, Oct. 10, Odom, 35, arrived at Dennis Hof’s legal brothel and spent the next days partying with numerous women, including two employees named Ryder Cherry and Monica Monroe. On Tuesday, Oct. 13, around 3 p.m., Ryder and Monroe found Odom unconscious in his VIP suite. According to Hof, the two females alerted staff, who then called 911.
The operator instructed the staff to “roll [Odom] on his left side.” Hof explained to Us that “a bunch of ugly stuff came out of him.” According to the brothel owner, Odom had been taking herbal Viagra and drinking Cognac. At the time, Hof told Us that there was no evidence of other drugs. Responders stabilized Odom and took him by ambulance to a local hospital. The basketball player was later transferred to Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas by ambulance because his 6’10” frame was unable to fit inside a helicopter.
Sunrise Hospital:
According to sources, Odom was in critical condition upon arriving to the hospital, and on Wednesday, a source told Us that Odom had “a significant amount of cocaine found in his system.” Addiction specialist Brad Lamm told Us that when herbal Viagra is mixed with other drugs and alcohol, the combination can be “deadly.”
A source close to the Kardashian family also confirmed that the former NBA star suffered several strokes overnight.
“Family and friends are extremely concerned for Lamar,” his rep, Eve Sarkisyan, exclusively told Us. “Please don’t listen to the false information being circulated unofficially. Please respect the family’s privacy during this difficult time.”
Khloe Kardashian, Friends, and Family:
Odom’s estranged wife, Khloe Kardashian, rushed to the basketball pro’s side Tuesday night. Her sister Kim and mom Kris Jenner, also flew to Las Vegas to be by Odom’s side. Kourtney and Khloe’s half-sister Kendall Jenner traveled to Las Vegas the following day on Wednesday, as well as Odom’s dad, Joe Odom. According to a source, Khloe payed for Joe to travel to Vegas. On Tuesday night, Joe told Us Weekly that he was “just trying to take care of some business right now” and asked for “prayers.” Joe was also spotted picking up a suit on Wednesday, although it’s unclear who it was for.
Odom’s former Lakers teammate Kobe Bryant also stopped by the hospital Tuesday night, as well as Rev. Jesse Jackson, who said the basketball player was life support. Kourtney’s ex-boyfriend Scott Disick, who also suffers from alcohol and substance abuse, meanwhile has been in California seeking treatment at a rehab center.
Khloe has yet to leave the hospital while Kim and Kris have been photographed exiting and returning.
Khloe and Lamar’s Relationship:
The Los Angeles Superior Court dropped a bombshell on Wednesday, Oct. 14, when a rep revealed to Us that Odom and Khloe aren’t officially divorced. Despite the exes both signing papers this past July after Khloe filed for divorce from Odom in December 2013, a judge has yet to sign off on the documents.
911 Calls:
During a press conference on Wednesday, Oct. 14, Sheriff Wehrly clarified that the 911 calls they received on Tuesday mentioned Odom “had used up to 10 tabs of sexual performance enhancements over a three day period” as well as “cocaine” and that “he was [found] unconscious but breathing and had blood coming from his nose and mouth along with a white substance.” Two employees, Misty and Richard Hunter, dialed 911 and both explained that Odom had blood coming out of his mouth and nose. Wehrly also revealed they obtained a search warrant for Odom’s blood at the brothel and that an investigation is ongoing, as well as that police had contacted a member of the Kardashian family who upon being informed about Odom was “understandably distraught.”
When questioned by reporters the current status of Odom, Wehrly was unable to specify.
