Kristin Cavallari confirmed on Monday, Dec. 7, that her brother Michael Cavallari is missing, and said her family “remains hopeful” in a message on Instagram.
“I appreciate all the concern, thoughts, and prayers that have been extended to me and my family,” the former Hills star, 28, captioned a throwback snap with her older sibling. “We remain hopeful and I will share any news that we receive. I have such gratitude for all those that have shared their support.”
Cavallari’s big brother hasn’t been seen since the Friday after Thanksgiving, Nov. 27. However, his Honda Civic was found abandoned on a highway five miles south of Interstate 70, the Grand County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release this weekend.
Authorities, meanwhile, have searched the area but have not found the driver. The Sheriff’s office is treating this case as an active missing persons investigation.
Cavallari and her husband, Jay Cutler, welcomed their third child, daughter Saylor James, late last month. In the days after her brother’s disappearance, she shared an Instagram post about missing her 10-year high school reunion to look after her newborn baby girl.
