Kris Jenner penned a sweet birthday message for her close friend Kathie Lee Gifford on her 62nd birthday, and what would have been Frank Gifford's 85th birthday.

Friends forever. Kris Jenner wrote a beautiful note for her close pal Kathie Lee Gifford on the Today show co-host's 62nd birthday, and what would have been Frank Gifford's 85th birthday.

"Happy Birthday to my beautiful friend Kathie Lee…." the Kardashian family momager, 59, wrote via Instagram, alongside a snap of the longtime friends grinning and embracing each other outdoors. "I wish you peace and understanding. I know it's Franks birthday today too. I wish I was there with you today. Big hug my angel."

Kris and Caitlyn Jenner's friendship with the Giffords goes back several decades when the families would vacation together. In April — after Caitlyn revealed in her tell-all interview with Diane Sawyer that "for all intents and purposes, I am a woman" — Kathie Lee shed some insight on Kris' side of the story.

"This was new to Kris. She’s trying to get her act together. She’s trying to be a good friend to him," Kathie Lee said of the KUWTK matriarch. "Trying to still be a good parent. It’s complicated in ways that we cannot even comprehend. Frank and I send our love and prayers to Bruce and his family. God loves you and so do we."

Like Jenner, Kathie Lee's Today show co-host Hoda Kotb also sent sweet wishes via social media on Aug. 16, also remembering the late NFL legend on what would have been his birthday, too.

On Monday, Aug. 17, Kathie Lee returned to the Today show co-host's chair, where she fondly remembered her late husband, who died on Aug. 9. "We laughed up to the very end. I just want everybody to know that this is a man who was at complete peace in his life," the mom of two told the audience. "He might have been the happiest, most content person in the world at this point in his life."

The veteran TV personality also shed some light on her husband's upbringing and how it shaped his values. "People who think that he was born with this silver spoon in his mouth? He goes, 'We didn't have spoons,'" she said of Frank's childhood during the Great Depression. "But it made him so grateful. Honestly he's the most grateful human being I've ever, ever known, and that colored everything he did."

He was also a man of faith. "That remained with him for the rest of his life. He strayed from his faith on occasion but his faith never left him," Kathie Lee noted. "His world got smaller as his God got bigger and he'd want you to know that, that he died in complete peace. He knew every sin he committed was forgiven."

Kathie Lee and the Hall of Famer married in 1986, and they shared two kids, son Cody, 25, and daughter Cassidy, 22.
