The entire Bravo community is rallying around Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kim Richards in the wake of her Thursday, April 16 arrest for public intoxication, including Andy Cohen, who voiced his support for Richards Friday.
Speaking to Ryan Seacrest in a KIIS-FM radio interview, Cohen, 46, admittedly wasn't totally up to speed on the details surrounding Richards' arrest at the Beverly Hills Hotel, but said he had extended well-wishes to Kim through her sister, Kyle Richards.
"I reached out to Kyle and the family is obviously very concerned. I don't know exactly what happened, but I'm thinking of her," Cohen told Seacrest. "I'm glad she wasn't hurt, and I hope it leads to some peaceful resolution for her and her family."
As Us Weekly previously reported, Richards, 50, was taken into custody after causing a scene inside the swanky Polo Lounge. According to the Beverly Hills Police Department, hotel security called to report that an "intoxicated female," later identified as Richards, was asked to leave the property but refused and holed herself up in a restroom. She remained there until police arrived, and displayed "belligerent insolent behavior, cursing at the officers and passively resisting arrest."
The former child star was charged with public intoxication, trespassing, resisting an officer, and battery on a police officer, and is set to appear in court on June 11.
Also on Friday, Cohen told a Twitter follower that he has nothing but well wishes for the star, whose sobriety was called into question by some of her costars on the just-wrapped fifth season of Real Housewives; she and her sister, Kyle Richards, remain estranged after an especially fraught and combative reunion, which aired this past Tuesday. When asked if he, as a show executive, considers outside headlines a precursor to successful ratings, Cohen was firm in his response.
I hate it, actually. I NEVER root against a RH. I only want the best for them. https://t.co/SAEA5mUixn

Neither Richards nor her sister, Kyle, has addressed the family’s recent drama.
