Soon-to-be Mrs. West! Two weeks before her nuptials to Kanye West, Kim Kardashian was the guest of honor at a bridal shower on Saturday, May 10. Close friends and family arrived to celebrate at The Peninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills; in a nod to the wedding locale, the bash was Parisian-themed. (Kardashian’s bridal shower was originally scheduled for the Beverly Hills Hotel. However, a source tells Us Weekly the party was moved following anti-gay laws implemented by the hotel’s owner, Sultan of Brunei Hassanal Bolkiah.)
Kardashian, 33, and mom Kris Jenner arrived in a black Rolls Royce, and were followed soon after by Kim’s little sisters Kendall and Kylie Jenner. The bride-to-be wore a white dress for her special day, and kept her dark locks down.
She was greeted by boldfaced buddies like Brittny Gastineau, Leah Jenner, Joyce Bonelli, Rachel Roy, and Shelli Azoff. The Paris-themed party, held in the Verandah room, included five white linen tables with white rose centerpieces. Guests feasted on bagels, brioche French toast, smoked bacon, chicken gyros, and country pork sausage patties. Champagne was served and a chocolate and white cake satisfied everyone’s sweet tooth.
A small white chocolate Eiffel Tower statue was placed at each person’s plate, and there was a fun photo booth to pose in. (Kardashian herself posted photos from the afternoon with sisters Khloe and Kourtney, and pregnant Ciara, who’s expected to give birth any day now.)
Each photo had Kim and Kanye’s name in the upper right corner, and those in attendance were able to take their printed photos home in a clear plastic frame. “It was really beautiful. A gorgeous day,” a source tells Us. “Some of Kanye’s family came in for it.”
The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star and West, 36, are set to tie the knot on May 24 in Paris, France. On May 9, Us Weekly gave an exclusive first look at the couple’s wedding invitation. “The honour of your presence is requested at the marriage of Kim Kardashian to Kanye West,” the memento stated. The neutral invite with gold lettering also asked guests to wear cocktail attire and to arrive at 6 p.m. for the ceremony.
The couple of two years have been busy making the final touches to their wedding plans, and recently walked the red carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Gala in NYC on May 5. But despite the chaos, it seems as though life won’t be slowing down any time soon. As Us previously reported, Kardashian is ready for baby No. 2!
“Kim would like to get pregnant right after the wedding,” a source told Us exclusively of Kardashian, who’s already mom to daughter North, 10 months. “She wants her kids to be close in age.”
