While Lamar Odom remains hospitalized, his wife, Khloe Kardashian, has canceled the upcoming press tour for her new book, Strong Looks Better Naked, Us Weekly can confirm.
Kardashian’s updated tour cancellation was confirmed to Us after Odom reportedly underwent two surgical procedures on Thursday night. Entertainment Tonight first reported on Friday, Oct. 23, that the reality star — whose nude book cover was revealed on Thursday — plans to remain by Odom’s side as he begins his journey towards recovery at Cedars-Sinai Hospital.
The former Lakes player, who was found in his VIP suite in the Love Ranch South in Pahrump, Nev., on Oct. 13, miraculously “opened his eyes” last Friday after being unconscious and in critical condition for nearly 72 hours. Amid the crisis, sources have told Us that Kardashian has barely left his side.
The reality star, 31, rushed to Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas after the news first broke last Tuesday, and was with Odom in the helicopter this past Monday when he was transported to Cedars-Sinai Hospital in L.A. It was widely believed that the couple, who signed their divorce documents this past July, were legally divorced, but Us Weekly revealed that they were still legally married as a judge had not signed off on the papers.
This past Wednesday, Oct. 21, Kardashian’s lawyer Laura Wasser went before a judge to withdraw the divorce filing. KUWTK momager and matriarch Kris Jenner subsequently confirmed that the divorce had been called off directly to her pal Billy Bush of Access Hollywood.
However, Odom has a long and difficult road ahead. TMZ reported on Thursday that the athlete went through two emergency surgeries. Hours before, Us exclusively reported that Odom was “not yet out of the woods” medically.
Kardashian’s book currently still has a release date of Nov. 3. Her first solo self-help book includes stories about her weight loss journey and relationship struggles (including her split from Odom in December 2013). Kardashian has previously expressed in interviews that the end of her marriage contributed to her seeking a healthier lifestyle.
