Let the memes begin. Kanye West’s shocking, NSFW music video for his track “Famous” instantly lit the Internet on fire with reactions and comments immediately following its premiere on Friday, June 24.
The video features 12 nude celebrities, including George W. Bush, Anna Wintour, Donald Trump, Rihanna, Chris Brown, Taylor Swift, Ray J, Amber Rose, Caitlyn Jenner, Bill Cosby, West and wife Kim Kardashian splayed out next to each other in the nude with their limbs entangled in silky white sheets.
West’s vision for the video is a take on Vincent Desiderio’s 2008 painting “Sleep,” which features a similar lineup of bodies sleeping together in the nude. (The painting originally debuted at Manhattan’s Marlborough Gallery in 2004, but was only completed in 2008.)
Though it is unclear whether the stars involved are actually lying on the bed or are “only there by the grace of some advanced prosthetic wizardry,” as Vanity Fair calls it, the Internet’s reactions to the voyeuristic video are very real.
