Get that H out of his face! Two-time Golden Globe winner Jon Hamm revealed in a new interview with Vanity Fair that he's technically only won once — and that was this past year.
The Mad Men actor, 44, explained how his first name on his 2008 Golden Globe was misspelled. But he couldn't take issue with the Hollywood Foreign Press Association in person, because there was no ceremony that year, thanks to the infamous Writers' Guild of America strike.
"They spelled my name wrong," Hamm recalled of receiving his Globe in the mail. "Which was also awesome . . ."
Despite the slight, the six-time Globe nominee finally got his redemption this year: On January 11, the Mad Men standout took home his second Globe for his portrayal of Don Draper in the category of Best Actor – Television Series, Drama, and gave a memorable speech about the honor.
"I really did not think I was going to do this," Hamm told the audience before directing his gratitude towards series creator Matthew Weiner, thanking him for writing "this horrible person all the way through to the end of the ride."
While Hamm now has two Globes on his mantelpiece, award number two has yet to arrive in the mail. (While stars get Globes onstage during the ceremony, they receive their actual trophies at home after they're engraved.) "For those watching," he advised in the VF video, "Guys, it’s J-O-N. Or Jonathan!"
