Yikes. Jeremy Renner is facing a nasty divorce with his estranged wife Sonni Pacheco. The Mission Impossible: 5 actor fears that his British Columbian ex will attempt to flee the country with their daughter Ava Berlin, 21 months, a source reveals in the new issue of Us Weekly.
According to the insider, Renner, 44, is concerned that Pacheco, who filed for divorce on Dec. 5 and demanded physical custody, will take off to Canada with his beloved daughter.
In the 23-year-old stunner’s divorce filing, Pacheco asked that Renner return her “stolen passport.” A pal argues, “She just wants independence.”
The couple’s marriage started to crumble soon after their secret January 2014 nuptials, the source explains of the duo, who “began to sleep separately” and called it quits just 10 months into their marriage.
“It wasn’t traditional,” says the source, “but he was hopeful they could make it work for Ava. He’s devastated.”
Following the news of their split, Renner took to his WhoSay account to post a sweet photo of himself holding his daughter. “It’s very early to call, but going on the record to predict the highlight of my year 2015!!!” he captioned the snap. “Just sayin… #restiscake.”
