Jennie Garth gushed exclusively to Us Weekly about her pal Tori Spelling while discussing her new podcast — which has a Beverly Hills, 90210-inspired name.

“She’s such a strong girl, even though she probably wouldn’t say she is,” Garth, 52, exclusively told Us of Spelling, 51, while promoting her new podcast, “I Choose Me with Jennie Garth.” “But I think [Tori is] in this phase right now where she’s going to learn so much about herself. I could not be happier that she is, you know, in this growth stage in her life.”

Spelling and Garth spent 10 years on Beverly Hills, 90210. “We still have our BFF Collection with QVC, which we love creating that together, and doing the podcast,” Garth told Us on Friday. “So, we’re still together after all these years.”

Along with their home decor line with QVC, aptly called The BFF Collection, Garth and Spelling cohost the “90210MG” podcast. “My life would be so different if I hadn’t chosen to do 90210,” Garth said.

According to Garth, she and Spelling “became sisters right away” when they first met on the set of 90210. Spelling and Garth starred as Donna Martin and Kelly Taylor, respectively, throughout the 90210 franchise, appearing in all 10 seasons of the show as well as The CW’s 90210 reboot and the BH90210 spinoff in 2019.

“We were all just super close at different times but felt like a family and like sisters,” Garth said to Us of the full cast. “That’s a bond we created as young girls, so I don’t think it’ll ever be broken. Tori and I love each other so much. We’re super different people. We’ve always talked about [how we’re] kind of opposites in a lot of ways. And I just love her.”

Garth’s fans know that “I Choose Me” was said by Kelly when she was asked to pick Dylan or Brandon on season 5 of 90210.

“I don’t know something happens when you turn 50 like for me when I turned 50, you just kind of fall into place and you have a different perspective on things and your priorities shift,” she told Us of the podcast name. “I made a conscious decision to sort of look back to move forward. And I think in doing that, that statement just resonated with me. … It’s been kind of on my vision board for probably two or three years now and now just starting the brand and having this as one part of it. It’s just all falling into place and I couldn’t be more excited.”

Garth officially launched the show earlier this month. “We’re just sort of ramping up right now by introducing the key players in my life, people that will be dropping in and out of the podcast,” she explained. “In our memories, we find such valuable lessons that we didn’t really see when we were in it. So that’s kind of what we’re doing with me telling stories from my past or events from my past. And looking at now, as an adult — what is the kernel, that nugget of a golden nugget from that experience that has helped me get to where I am, and propel me forward?”

The actress concluded that the purpose of the podcast is “getting messages out there to women” that will benefit their lives.
