A symbol of solidarity. Jean Jullien — a French graphic designer who is currently based in London — created the viral “Peace for Paris” image that’s been circulating the Internet after the deadly attacks in Paris on Friday, Nov. 13.
The touching image — which depicts the Eiffel Tower as a peace sign — has been liked by more than 1.3 million people on Instagram. While Jullien himself originally shared the image he created, Instagram’s official account posted the image, crediting Jullien.
“Peace for Paris,” he captioned the image.
Jullien — who graduated from the Royal College of Art in 2010 — has created images for Nike, BMW, Warby Parker, Yale University, and The New Yorker, and he also created a viral pacifist illustration in reaction to the Charlie Hebdo attacks in Paris in January.
“I am devastated by what just happened in France #CharlieHebdo,” he tweeted at the time.
Many celebrities — including Miranda Lambert, Amber Rose, John Legend, Bethenny Frankel, Chris Rock, Lauren Conrad, and Harry Styles — have shared the picture.
The cast of the hit NBC sitcom Undateable — which had its Friday episode postponed — shared a snap of the actors holding signs that depicted Jullien’s image.
The hashtag #PrayforParis has also gone viral.
On Friday, terrorists attacked several sites throughout the city and killed at least 150 people and left many more injured. ISIS has since claimed responsibility for the attacks.
