Subliminal message? On Monday, July 20, Jake Gyllenhaal appeared on Good Morning America to talk with anchor Robin Roberts about his boxing film, Southpaw. But as the Oscar nominee was being announced, the song “Bad Blood” played in the background.
The tune is the 2014 hit single from Gyllenhaal’s ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift, who famously penned her 2012 song “All Too Well” about their 2011 romance. “Bad Blood” is not about Gyllenhaal and was written in direct reference to a feud between Swift and pop star Katy Perry. The star-studded music video featured Swift’s famous pals fighting each other Kill Bill-style.
Swift, who is known for her slew of celebrity exes, is currently dating DJ Calvin Harris.
Gyllenhaal, 34, didn’t seem to notice the song being played and continued with his interview. But fans on Twitter quickly picked up on it, calling out GMA for the faux pas.
Someone at @GMA has a fun, sick sense of humor playing Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood” as an intro to an interview w/ Jake Gyllenhaal
