She knows he’s a former Beatle, right? Heather Mills had no problem taking jab at her rock star ex-husband Paul McCartney in a recent interview on Ireland’s The Late Late Show.
The former Alpine skier, 47, appeared clearly agitated when asked about McCartney, 72, but the host persisted, noting, “I think people are more interested than you allow for.”
“No, they’re not,” Mills replied. “That’s the thing. When I go down the street, I get kids coming up to me — half of them don’t even know who he is — that’s why he’s got to do songs with Rihanna and Kanye West, so people remember.”
McCartney recently recorded “FourFiveSeconds,” with Rihanna and West, and the trio performed the acoustic ballad together at the Grammys last month. Mills, who divorced McCartney in 2008 after six years of marriage, claimed that people who stop her in the street are more interested in her past as a ski racer and her work with animals.
“When I go down the street, it’s ‘Oh my god, you’re a ski-racer’ or ‘You help the animals.’ You know, I own the biggest vegan company in the world,” she added. “This is just someone I fell in love with who to me was a normal guy that happened to write a few cool songs in the ’60s and a few in the ’70s. Like everybody that’s a partner — you fall in love, you get married, you sometimes then go ‘Oh my God, this is completely wrong,’ you wake up, and you move on.”
