Goop-tastic Globes! Gwyneth Paltrow was a quieter presence at the 2014 Golden Globes in Beverly Hills on Sunday, Jan. 12 ; still, she and husband Chris Martin made a statement by simply showing up together. While the Oscar-winning actress, 41, wasn't up for any trophies this year, the Coldplay rocker, 36, was nominated in the Best Original Song category for "Atlas" from The Hunger Games: Catching Fire soundtrack. The honor inspired the spouses of ten years to make not one but three joint public appearances together over the long Golden Globes weekend in Hollywood, culminating inside the Beverly Hilton for the awards show.
NBC's cameras briefly panned to the parents of Apple and Moses at their table, looking cozy and low-key, with Paltrow smiling in a light blue and gold-encrusted, long-sleeved gown, her blonde hair in loose, bohemian-style low bun, with her hubby in a casual, no-tie black suit. One observer at the bash tells Us they were "extremely cute together," with the "Yellow" singer keeping his arm around Paltrow throughout the show. (Coldplay lost the Best Song award to U2.)
The couple similarly made a united front one night before at the star-studded Help Haiti Home gala (for Sean Penn's charity), and at Friday's Diane von Furstenberg's "Journey of a Dress" gala.
The couple have famously made it a rule to avoid posing together for photos at events. "It doesn't behoove us to be a public couple," Paltrow told ELLE UK in 2009 of her husband. "He certainly doesn't want that. We've never ever walked down a red carpet together, we never will."
