Is it getting harder to breathe? Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton were asked about their hot romance during a joint interview — and their reactions were priceless! Their good pal Adam Levine swooped in to save the day when they were caught off-guard by the question.
The awkward interaction happened during a recent interview with the Today show’s Natalie Morales. All four coaches from The Voice — including Pharrell Williams — sat down to discuss Season 9 of the NBC singing competition.
“Gwen and Blake, of course we all know what’s going on with you guys,” Morales said. “Is it good to just be out in the open now?”
Their reaction? Silence. Stefani, 46, tensed up and kept quiet as Shelton, 39, laughed. Williams, 42, commended Morales for the “nice segue,” but it was Levine, 36, that really helped the lovebirds avoid the situation.
“Next question! Next question, please!” the Maroon 5 singer belted out. “Ask the next question before it gets awkward!”
Us Weekly broke the news last month that Stefani and Shelton are dating. The pair have recently ended their marriages to Gavin Rossdale and Miranda Lambert, respectively.
